home page imagePhil Laughlin, PSA is a devoted pastel painter living and working in Vermont. Phil's work is an outstanding example of the use of pastels as a painting medium, an idea that has gained wide currency in recent years. His surfaces are are rich and luminous, built with decisive brushwork and a lush application of color. Pastels use the same coloring agents as more traditional mediums and produce work that can hang with the best of them. You can find excellent paintings by Phil Laughlin and other pastel painters hanging in major theme and mixed medium art exhibits.
